I am a Fibre Artist who has just returned to being creative in the last 10 years. I graduated Art College in the 1970's but life put my creative spirit on hold while I worked and raised my son. Upon retirement I felt the need to create again using colour, texture and design. I utilize all types of techniques like free motion sewing, weaving, beading, abstract embroidery and felting to produce my work. I design with fabric, threads, yarns and beads. I like using all kinds of fabric like silk, velvet, recycled clothing, vintage doilies, hand spun and hand dyed fabrics and wool. I enjoy the creative process and employ the "no rules" methods to my work which allows me to be free and experiment. I liken what I make with painting with fibre or fabric.
