Owen Sound, ON – The Artisans Holiday Show & Sale is excited to announce its return for a third year, taking place from November 29 to December 1, 2024 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. We are proud to continue our partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce (CMHA-GB), with 100% of all door proceeds dedicated to supporting local youth and enhancing mental health literacy.
Join us for a vibrant showcase of original artwork by talented local artists from Grey and Bruce counties, including Timmerwerk, Forty Hills Forge, and Infinite Glassworks. Attendees can also enjoy delicious offerings from local food artisans like Down North Garlic, Donald’s Honey, Talies Tarts and Such, and Motherbutter Shortbread. Families can look forward to a special visit from Santa, as well as a lunch counter operated by Fresh Roots Cafe & Catering—an initiative of CMHA Grey Bruce.
Over the past two years, the Artisans Holiday Show & Sale has successfully raised over $10,000 for CMHA’s Youth Awareness Programs. These vital initiatives aim to increase mental health literacy among children and youth. Notably, the Grey Bruce Friends and Neighbours (FAN) club has been delivering engaging puppet shows in schools since 2003, reaching thousands of primary and junior students each year. These performances cover essential topics like building self-esteem, managing emotions, embracing differences, and the importance of seeking help.
Additionally, CMHA offers programs like Let’s Talk, which provides multi-visit sessions for youth in Grades 5 and up, addressing resources, coping strategies, and healthy relationships. The Talk Today program partners with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) to foster mental health conversations in locker rooms and classrooms.
